1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy outlines the practices of Select Development LLC, also referred to as "Select", "us", "we", or "our". It is integrated into and governed by our Terms of Use. To understand our methods of handling your data, please read on. By accessing our Select mobile application, referred to as "App" or "Service", you are agreeing to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, kindly refrain from using our Service.

When you use our App, we may collect information from you. When you create an account with us, we will collect additional data from you to provide the Services. The specifics of the information we collect will vary based on your use of our App and Services.
 

2. Information we collect

By accessing and using our Site or App, installing the App on your device, or registering for an account with Select, you may be providing us with some personal information so that we can offer you the Services. More information on this topic is provided below.
 

2.1. “Registration and Account Data” 

When you install the Service on your device and/or register an account with Select, personal and/or non-personal information about you may be collected. There are two types of Registration and Account Data:

• Information you provide (mandatory): Gender, name or alias, date of birth, mobile phone or email address are required to help provide you with the connection and friends features in the Service.

• Information you provide (optional): You may also choose to provide additional personal information such as photos, videos, description of yourself and interests. Registering with Facebook, Apple, or Google may also result in additional information being collected and stored on our servers.

Your contact information may be used for marketing purposes and to help others find your account, as allowed by law. You can control notifications through your email and mobile settings, and unsubscribe from them by following the instructions in the notification.

In addition to video calling, you can use the personal text messaging service in the App. When you communicate with others, we store and process your communications and related information to detect malicious content, abuse, and prohibited images, and to better understand the use of our Services and protect the safety of our platform. Information about who you communicated with and when will also be used for this purpose, but not the content of the communications.
 

2.2. Location Information 

Location Data, such as GPS coordinates, approximate city location obtained from Wifi, and country location obtained from IP address, may be disclosed to us or other users, or both. This information is necessary to establish and maintain your account, provide our services, and maintain the security of our services. Our services rely on your current location to ensure proper connections are made. We may also collect, use, and store additional information about your location, including your current position and places where you've used our services, to improve and personalize our services and provide more relevant connections.
 

2.3. Log Data

When you interact with our services, we collect information referred to as "Log Data". This may include your IP address, operating system, information from the Select app, the referring web page, pages visited, location, mobile carrier, device information. We also collect general information about your communications on Select, such as the date and duration of your communications (but not their content, unless required for safety and security reasons). The purpose of collecting Log Data is to operate and secure our services, understand what is popular on our services, and improve our services and marketing. We may use metadata, such as the date or location of a connection made via the Select App, as well.
 

2.4. Information from Third Parties and Affiliates

We may receive information about you from sources such as partners, who assist us in evaluating the safety and quality of our content, corporate affiliates, and other services linked to your account.

The information we receive is used to operate our Services. For supported integrations, you can revoke this permission from your application settings, but for others, you will need to visit the connected service to do so.
 

2.5. Personalization based on Inferred Identity

When you log in to our platform on a device, that device will be associated with your account for authentication, security, and personalization purposes. Based on your settings, we may also associate your account with other  devices not used to log in to our platform (or associate your logged-out devices). When you provide us with information such as an email address, it will be linked to your account. Based on your settings, we may use this information to infer other details about your identity, for example, by connecting your account to email addresses with similar components to the email address you provided. This is done to operate and personalize our Services. For instance, if you log in through Facebook, we will access your age profile there to meet the standards required to use our App and Services.

2.6. During the Use of the App

Device Information - Select may gather and store information about the device(s) used to install and access the App, such as device model, unique device identifier, IP address, device capabilities, and page view statistics.

Activity Tracking - Select may gather and store information about your and others' usage and activity within the App, including matches made, match durations, text messaging, music choices, and usage by geography. To use the Services, Select requires access to copy your photos for your profile picture and any media files you choose to share, as well as access to your camera/microphone to record video/audio for the video and audio features, including music files.

Shared Content - Select allows you to share your profile, interests, text messages, photos, videos, music, and other communications with other users. If you choose to share this information, it will be stored on Select's servers, and may no longer be under your control. Sharing such information also carries the risk of it becoming publicly available. Select shall not be responsible for any use or misuse of the information shared with other users.

User Content - Select may gather and store any content created or posted by you, such as photos, comments, and interests.

Transaction Information - To complete a transaction, you will be asked to provide payment information, which will be transmitted securely to a third-party vendor or merchant. Select may process or store payment information, as well as other information about purchases made on the App, such as the merchant's name, transaction date, time, and amount, and purchase history.

Error-Reporting Information - If the App crashes or fails to operate properly, Select may gather error-reporting information to investigate and improve the App for future releases. These reports generally do not contain personally identifiable information, or only incidentally. This information includes device type and version, device identifier, error occurrence time, the feature being used, and the App's state when the error occurred. This information is only used to investigate and fix the error.

 

2.7. Age Restrictions
The service is not intended for children or individuals under the age of 18 and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from such individuals. We may collect information about your age to ensure that underage users are not using our platform and use third parties to help us maintain the correct age profile. If we become aware of collecting such information, we will delete it from our records. If you are under 18, do not use the service.

3.User Profile
You have control over the information you provide in your user profile, including profile information, name, interests, personal bio, language, and birthday that can be shared with your selected contacts. Ensure that you only share what you want to include in your profile, as it will be made available to other users connected to you and may be discoverable by other users through the app's contact list. You also have the option to block other users from discovering your profile. Your profile may be pre-populated with information from your Facebook account if you log in through Facebook, but you can delete or change your profile information as indicated in Section 13 and our Safety Centre.

4.Personal Information Use

We collect and use your data following the data minimization principle and only for the purposes stated below. We process your data for the service and related business purposes, including:

4.1 To provide the service:

• connect with other users within the app

• share your profile with other users on the app

• provide video and audio call functions

• send images and videos through the app

• show your name and the names of persons you communicate with

• provide features offered from time to time, such as premium services, play games, and share music during video calls

• allow you to contact us

• connect with third parties for payment processing

• run analytics for better connections, offers, and updates

4.2 To administer and maintain your account and profile:

• create and update your account

• deliver administrative notices, alerts, and communications

• facilitate networking opportunities and provide location or interest information on other users

• develop, test, and improve the services through surveys, research, statistics, and analytics

• handle and process payments through third-party providers

• send marketing communications and notifications

• communicate with you about our services and policies

• respond to your inquiries

4.3 share with third-party partners and the RC Group to meet contractual obligations

• Promote safety, integrity, and security:

• verify accounts and activity for audit, compliance, controls, security, and risk management

• combat harmful conduct and detect and prevent other harmful experiences

• maintain the integrity of our services and promote safety and security

• investigate suspicious activity and violations of terms through automated technology and manual review of data.

 

5. Legal Basis for Processing Data

There are various reasons that allow us to process your data while you use our Service. These reasons include:

• Legitimate Interests, such as preventing fraud, maintaining network and information security, and conducting internal administrative tasks, unless these interests are outweighed by your rights to protect your personal information.

• Consent, where you have agreed to allow us to process your personal information for specific purposes, such as providing our Service and other requests.

• Complying with the law.

• Public interest and protecting your or others' vital interests.

6. Sharing Information with Third-Party Partners

We share information and content with companies that support our business, such as technical infrastructure providers, customer service providers, payment facilitators, and survey conductors. Your information may be shared with:

• Agents, contractors, and service providers supporting our business systems, including payment processors, data management providers, and direct marketing companies with your consent

• Professional advisors and regulatory authorities

• Proposed or actual assignees or transferees of our business.

7. Sharing User Content

Any information or content you voluntarily share on the Service becomes public and can be viewed and re-shared by others. Even if you delete such content, copies may remain accessible in cached pages or if saved by others. Personally identifiable information shared with other users can also be viewed and used by them, and the Service is not responsible for any misuse.

8.Direct Marketing

If you have agreed to receive direct marketing, we may use your personally identifiable information to:

• Send you direct marketing communications regarding updates, promotions, and events

Analyze your preferences and online behavior to personalize our communications and services.

• We will always ask for your consent before providing direct marketing communications, and you can opt out at any time.

9.Data Access and Removal

You can control the information you share with us by changing your settings or removing the Service from your device. You can also choose to remove your data at any time by deleting your account. Note that deleting your data may prevent us from providing you with the Service.

 

10. Outbound Links

Third-party websites or applications accessed through the Service may collect information about you. We do not have control over these third parties and are not responsible for their actions.

 

11. Security

Select values the protection of your privacy and personal information. We ensure the confidentiality of all the information you provide to us through the use of appropriate technical and physical security measures, such as password protection and system monitoring. Access to your personal information is limited to Select employees, contractors, agents, Third-Party Partners, and service providers who need it to provide, operate, develop, maintain, support, or improve the Service.

While we strive to protect your information, the nature of technology and the Internet may not guarantee full protection against loss, misuse, or alteration. Your information may be stored and processed in any country where Select operates or its service providers have facilities. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to other countries.

To ensure the security of international transfers of personal information, we implement safeguards in accordance with relevant laws. If you would like more information about our data transfer practices, please reach out to us using the contact details provided in the “Contact Information” section.

We may also use pseudonyms or aggregate information for analytical purposes. This allows us to improve our services, conduct fraud detection and account safety analysis, analyze usage trends, and provide third-party service providers with statistics about how their services are being used by Select users.

12. Retention of Your Data

We will keep your personal data only for so long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless the law requires us to keep it for a longer period. Once we no longer need your personal data, we will either irreversibly anonymise or securely delete it from our servers. 

13. Your Data Protection Rights 

Select would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. In particular, you are entitled to the following rights:

• Right of Access:
  You shall have the right to obtain from Select confirmation as to whether or not your personal information is being processed, and, where that is the case, you may request for a copy of your personal information. 

• Right to Withdraw Consent:
  The provision of your consent shall give Select a lawful basis to process your personal information. You may also revoke your consent to processing.

• Right to Rectification:
  If you entered the incorrect age or gender, we can assist you. Please submit a report to support@select-development.org and we will handle your request.

• Right to Erasure:
  You shall have the right to ask for your personal information to be deleted in certain circumstances; 

Please note that your right to erasure may be limited if the data are necessary for compliance with a legal obligation or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

• Right to Restriction on Processing:
  You shall have the right to object to and ask for restrictions on the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances; 

• Right to Objection:
  You shall have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to processing of your personal information.
  Select shall no longer process the personal information unless Select demonstrates compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims; 

• Right to Complaint :
  You shall have the right to file a complaint to support@select-development.org if you think that one or more of your rights have been infringed by Select.

14. Exercising your data protection rights

If you wish to update or delete your personal information submitted, you can update it via the App. Alternatively, you can send your request to our Customer Service Manager at support@select-development.org

In addition, you have the right to lodge complaints about how Select manages your personal information.

16. Notification of Changes

We reserve the right at our discretion to make changes to this Privacy Policy from time to time. You may review updates to our Privacy Policy at any time via links in Google Play and Apple App Store. You agree to accept electronic communications and/or postings of a revised Privacy Policy, and you agree that such electronic communications or postings constitute notice to you of the Privacy Policy. 

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by publishing a revised Privacy Policy or by means of a notice as a pop up within our App, or as required by law. You agree to review the Privacy Policy periodically so that you are aware of any modifications. You agree that your continued use of the Service after we publish a revised Privacy Policy or provide a notice on our website constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
